The school transport offer

Students registered for school transport benefit from a daily return trip between the municipality of residence and the municipality of the school.

Students registered for school transport benefit from a daily return trip between the municipality of residence and the municipality of the school.

Your child is eligible if these 3 criteria are met:

› the child’s legal residence is located in the Grand Est Region;

› the child is educated in a municipality other than that of his or her home

› the child is educated in an establishment in accordance with the school map defined by the National Education

If your child’s situation does not meet these criteria, he or she may still have access to the buses within the limit of available places. You must register and pay for an annual school transport card according to the rate in force for “non-entitled persons”.

The exemption from the school map does not guarantee access to the status of beneficiary. On the other hand, the Region can grant this status on the basis of a list of specific options.

For eligible primary school pupils, family participation is free, but you must register your child each year.

Departments of Marne and Moselle : to apply for an allowance, please complete the corresponding form and send it to the address indicated, with all the attachments.

This is a priority objective of the Grand Est Region to ensure the supervision and safety of nursery school pupils in regional school transport. The chaperone’s role is to help pupils get on and off the bus. During the journey, he ensures their safety (seat belt, discipline on board, etc.). Finally, he ensures that they are handed over to the school and to the parent upon return.

Outside of these hours, students must pay for a transport ticket if they take a route other than the school route assigned to them.

To benefit from the reduction, all they need to do is present their Fluo card when purchasing their transport ticket.

To benefit from free movement during the scheduled times, he simply has to show his school transport card to the driver when boarding the bus.

Some tips for using route calculation as effectively as possible.

Particularly interactive, the latter allows you at any time to:

Particularly interactive, the latter allows you at any time to:

› view route alternatives;

› change your start and finish points on the map and immediately get a new result.

Departure and arrival

To indicate the place of departure and arrival you can use the input fields or click directly on the interactive map. Specify the desired date and time for your trip. On the site or mobile application, if you are connected to your Fluo account, you can use your favorite addresses to designate your place of departure or arrival.

Entering and selecting locations

For the same entry, the site/app can offer you stops, addresses and points of interest (categorized places).

Please note: if you select a stop, the route planner will only look for route solutions from/to this stop and the connecting stops, which is generally not beyond a perimeter of 250 meters. This is why we recommend that you use addresses and points of interest instead to obtain the fastest routes overall, even if you change options afterwards according to your preferences.

Indicate your preferences

By default, the “fastest” route is proposed. However, you can run a recalculation in “fewer changes” mode, which in some cases can simplify the journey by only slightly increasing the total duration.

Choice of mode of transport

The site primarily seeks public transport solutions. But not only that. Other modes of transport are offered to you by default in addition, if the situation allows:

› walking route

› bike ride

Advanced options in preferences

You can change the settings as follows, in the “Preferences” tab, specify the modalities of your choice:

› for walking: indicate your speed preferences (slow = 3 km/h; normal = 4 km/h; fast = 6 km/h)

› for cycling: indicate your speed preferences (slow = 13 km/h; normal = 16 km/h; fast = 20 km/h)

› for public transport: deactivate certain modes of transport on public transport (if for example you only want to take the tram)

View results

Each route suggestion appears in the form of a button including:

› the modes of transport to use<
› the duration of the journey and the departure and arrival times

› the number of changes

› the distance traveled on foot, by bike as the case may be

By clicking on the solution, you unfold its contents: a roadmap, a plan and various useful features.

Search for a line’s timetable:

› specify the name or number of the line you are looking for

›› OR: Enter the name of the line’s origin or destination

› you can also view the lines in the list of networks that appear under the line timetable search field.

Search result :

The results page shows all the lines that may match the search.

Among the proposed lines, select the line that corresponds to your search and a direction so that the line timetable is displayed. This is an automatically formatted timetable using the same database as the route calculation.

Remember to change the date, which is by default that of the current day.

The line timetable allows you to access the features described below:

› working validity calendar for each race

› display of the line and all its stops on an interactive map

› access to timetables for stopping at a line stop.

The route planner compares the environmental impact of the proposed route with that of the same route taken by car.

The calculation of CO2 production is carried out based on the distances travelled by each mode and the average carbon production coefficients by mode of transport GeqCO2/passenger.km

GeqCO2: gram equivalent CO2

Coefficients used by modes of transport

› Car: 86.9 kg CO2 eq.

› Tramway : 1.2 kg CO2 eq.

› Métro : 1.42 kg CO2 eq.

› Train : 3.87 kg CO2 eq.

› TER : 3.87 kg CO2 eq.

› TGV : 55.9 kg CO2 eq.

› Autobus : 55.9 kg CO2 eq.

› Autocar : 25.16 kg CO2 eq.

The coefficients for cars, buses, trams and metros are derived from work carried out by the French Environment and Energy Management Agency (ADEME), in consultation with representatives of French public transport operators. These coefficients are used in particular by ADEME’s eco calculator.

Since ADEME’s work did not define a reference coefficient for Car mode, we use the same coefficient as for Bus.

The TER and TGV train coefficients are those established by the SNCF, which uses these coefficients in particular for its eco comparator.

The coefficients used are only averages: recent cars pollute less than older cars, the same is true for buses, coaches or trains… The carbon ratio must therefore be considered only as an indication of the order of magnitude of the carbon savings made by taking public transport – keeping in mind that significantly different results could be obtained for the same journey depending on the calculation assumptions used.

Public transport (PT) distances are calculated as close as possible to the actual route by adding the distances of each of the stop-to-stop sections.

Passenger car (PV) distances are calculated based on the road graph.
